Just before the Easter break our Drama students had the opportunity to watch A Monster Calls at the Carriageworks Theatre in Leeds. It was the opening night of the show and the first time this powerful play had been performed in Leeds.

Not only that, but the amazing Mrs Bevan arranged a pre-show talk with the director, Janine Walker. A fabulous opportunity for our students to ask some really insightful pre-prepared questions. They came up with a range of questions by themselves asking her about her creative adaptation and also asking for some career advice about working in the arts’ industry.

The students were buzzing afterwards and found the talk with the director a valuable experience. The director commented that she loved meeting our students and said “What stars they are!”

Thank you to Janine and our students who really did represent our sixth form well.
