We are delighted to have the opportunity to invite you to our school for our Open Evening on Thursday 30th September.  The school will be open from 5.30pm to 8.00pm.

We do however have to exercise caution. In order to keep our school community and visitors safe we need to limit the numbers on site, stagger tours and operate pre-booking for the Headteacher’s talks. We insist that only one parent attends with one Year 6 child. Please wear a mask and make use of the sanitising stations throughout school.

The evening will be split into two halves:

  1. A tour of the school to see classes in action, demonstrations and to take part in some activities. These will start at 5.30pm with the last at 7.30pm. They will be guided and follow a strict one way system. Parents should arrive at the Drama entrance, at the back of school, to start these (do not come to main reception). Car Park Attendants will direct you.
  2. The Headteacher’s talk will last 30 minutes at 6.00pm, 6.45pm and 7.30pm – all talks are now fully booked. If you have booked, these will be in the school hall and you must enter via the main entrance only. If you haven’t been able to book a Headteacher’s Talk, you can still visit us on the 30th September from 5.30pm to take a tour and access virtual information online at www.horsforthschool.org):

Parking
Due to the building works taking place on site, parking will be very limited on the night. Please could we ask that, where possible, you walk or park  in a local public car park (on Town Street or the back of school near to St Margret’s Church, which is accessed from Church Lane).

You will meet some of our students; observe them learning and have an informal chat about their experiences at Horsforth School. You will see wider aspects of school life, student work and meet specialist and Curriculum staff. Our specialist Year 7 team will be available to explain all about ‘Life in Year 7’ and how we ease transition from Primary to Secondary and Horsforth Children’s Services will be present.
