How Will I Be Assessed?

Paper 1 – Written examination: 2 hours and 15 minutes 30% of the qualification 105 marks
Paper 2 – Written examination: 2 hours and 15 minutes 30% of the qualification 105 marks
Paper 3 – Written examination: 2 hours and 15 minutes 20% of the qualification 70 marks

Non-examination assessment: Independent Investigation – Non-examined assessment 20% of the qualification 70 marks

What Next?

By studying geography, you’ll gain an insight into a range of practical, social, economic and environmental issues. Geography offers the opportunity to tackle some of the most important issues facing modern society, from climate change and natural disasters, to globalisation and the rise and fall of superpowers.

The core geographic skills, gained through field work and analysis of maps and data, are also transferable and relevant to many jobs and business sectors.

A geography degree enables you to embark on a career in a range of fields, including those in the education, commerce, industry, transport, tourism and public sectors. You’ll also have many transferable skills, attracting employers from the business, law and finance sectors.
