We are proud to announce that our Year 7s were exemplary in representing Horsforth School in the National Final of the Foreign Language Spelling Bee at Cambridge University.

We did not make it into the top 4 but both contestants placed within the top 10 out of 35 finalists in each category. This is absolutely AMAZING given that for each language there were 10,100 entrants (30,300 total including French/Spanish/German). The competition was stiff… there were tie-breaks, disqualifications, sudden death rounds and a presentation on the importance of speaking a foreign language from the Mayor of Cambridge herself!

Well done Emmie, James and Jamie! You did Horsforth School proud….

Next year will see the new Year 8s enter into the Foreign Language Translation Bee… BRING IT ON!!
