Our Spanish students have been sampling some local tapas, to help with their studies! Here’s a report of their evening out written by one of our Year 10 students, we hope you enjoyed it.

As the first outing for the Mighty Fine Linguists Club, we went on a cultural Spanish trip to La Casita, a tapas restaurant located on Town Street in Horsforth.

It was a very successful event as there was something for everyone: meat, fish and vegetarian options. Everyone tried a range of tapas dishes that included patatas bravas, garlic prawns, spicy squid rings, turkey croquetas, cerdos en mantas (pigs in blankets), ox cheek and fried halloumi.

On the walls of the restaurant were several photos of Spanish surrealist artist Salvador Dalí, which livened up the décor of the place. It was a new, interesting experience that really opened our eyes to Spanish culture and cuisine, plus we were encouraged to talk to students in other year groups that we may not have known before.

Without even leaving Horsforth everyone had a new Spanish experience, and we are all looking forward to our next MFL Club outing next term.
